Welcome to the Charretterie *** !

A very large awning at each extremity of the building, eight powerful arches with oak poles each based on a huge boulder, half-timbered work in the shape of a St Andrew's cross, a 16-meter long vessel several centuries old ...

Welcome to a traditional 17th-century Charretterie in the High Normandy country !!!

A Charretterie is a traditional farm building and its renovation required that all the typical period and regional charm of such a construction be retained. That is the purpose of the 8 large French windows (7 of them on runners). While preserving the original aspect of the Charretterie, they bring outstanding light to the interior, thus giving the impression of actually being in the garden.

The typical farmhouse charm of the Charretterie has also been preserved by the genuine double barn doors and the patina of the period partitioned staircase. Upstairs, a wide gangway unveils the crossbowmen, the powerful A-shaped beams which are part of the roof structure.

Each door discloses beautiful heart-shaped strap hinges and elegant period features. The carpenter's work is everywhere visible in the marks of his adze on the 200 period ceiling joists and the half-timbered partitions.

The Charretterie is built on grounds covering 1300m² (1560 sq yards) and it comprises a large private parking space (parks 4 to 6 cars). The neighbourhood is very quiet. The view is beautiful and picturesque with the garden in the foreground, the half-timbered Manoir and the church spire in the background.

The back facade of the Charretterie opens out on large landscape without neighbours.

There is a 72m² (778 sq ft) sun-deck and all the necessary garden furniture (tables, deck-chairs, parasols, BBQ).
